To broaden horizons. To help people to adapt, to inform themselves, and to have their rights guaranteed. To empower themselves. This is our purpose.

The Reconvexo Institute

We are an organisation that supports people with disabilities, with emphasis on people with visual impairment caused by Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy – LHON.

We act divulging and spreading information on Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy – LHON, including scientific updates, research in the area, and forms of diagnosis and treatment. We offer legal support for work reinsertion of people living with LHON, as well as conviviality, and educational formation.

Our initial focus is the collection and spreading of important information to people living with LHON and LHON Plus. In the future, we intend to expand the legal support we offer, as well as formatting programs in areas such as education, culture, life adaptation, outreach, etc. We are already working on this, but we need your aid to improve. Would you like to help? Learn how to collaborate with our projects.

The Institute’s idea is to tell people in all possible manners that, regardless of any condition, everyone has their capacities and must work on it to win and to follow their dreams and projects.
